Words have power.

Our words and thoughts are the tools with which we create the perception of our reality.Whenever you use any kind of word you’re not only making an impact on yourself but on the whole world around you.

Use words wisely. Words create thoughts and thoughts create words.

Keep your thoughts positive, because your thoughts become your words.

One of the most common mistakes in brand building!

In fact, it’s almost always neglected…

Are you living your brand?

Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, said: “Your brand is what other people say about you when you’re not in the room.”

To put it simply, your brand is your reputation. And your brand is only as good as the amount of effort you put in building it AND developing it.

Brand building doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a long term strategy that involves numerous elements that need to be aligned and nurtured.

One of the most common mistakes in brand building is the inability to walk the talk, which basically goes back to authenticity, honesty and self-awareness.

If you don’t start with YOU, how can you build an honest brand around you?

Your brand should be reflected in everything your customer sees and doesn’t see.

Customer loyalty is driven by customers who share the same feelings that differentiate your brand from competitors. And people have a unique ability to spot anything fake!

The branding journey starts with you – your values, your ideas and your desire to leave a legacy in this world.

So, are you living your brand?

Start by just being kind. It will change the world around you.

And you can start practicing by being kind to yourself.

Most people ask me “how can I improve my presence and influence?” The answer is always the same. Start by being kind. Even if you’re a kind person, are you sure you’re kind enough to yourself?

“To love oneself,” wrote Oscar Wilde, “is the beginning of a life-long romance.” Love comes easy on sunny days. When our self-esteem stands tall and we’re proud of all our accomplishments. However, rainy days remind us of all our faults, igniting our internal monologue which is usually full of harsh critique and non-constructive thinking.

Be kind to yourself. You can be honest and kind at the same time.

“Act as if it is impossible to fail.”

That’s what the famous actor, Anthony Hopkins, said at a recent interview with the Financial Times.

It may sound like a cliché, but I wish we’d think about it more often “Believe in it, believe and see yourself into a powerful future.”

Acting as if it is impossible to fail requires focus, determination, commitment, courage and effort.

But, the journey must start with a great level of self-awareness and a clear vision, otherwise we won’t be able to define our destination.

It’s not about talent or skills, these will be developed along the way.

There is no advance without curiosity and imagination.

When the Wright brothers dreamt of their flying machine, they didn’t constraint themselves to what’s normal and what’s not.

“If we worked on the assumption that what is accepted as true really is true, then there would be little hope for advance.”
Orville Wright

We feel more comfortable and safe doing things the way ‘they’ve always been done’. But the ones that dare to dream and find new ways of doing things, are the ones that make our lives better.

Every day we grow, we evolve and we test our limits.

We stand tall on our feet since prehistoric times while trying to reach the stars. At least some of us will try to reach the stars and others will become viewers and hopefully passengers on this journey.

We owe it to ourselves to keep on questioning everything around us, no matter how big or small, and trying to find better ways of doing things.

We are the ones creating new realities. We can all reach beyond our limited scope of belief.

Never ever ever give up!

It takes a lot of time to transform your dreams into actions and eventually your success. It takes a lot of time to learn and adjust your actions based on what you’ve learned. And it is even harder to maintain your integrity and honor your values.

As parents, we taught our daughter to guard her values and ideals and stand out from the crowd by not following others just because it’s the norm. We tried to teach her that quality will never be beaten by quantity. But, quality requires time and a lot more effort than quantity. In many cases, quality may even brand you as an outsider. It is this critical moment in your journey that you need to keep going despite what others think.

“Personal branding is about leading by example. You need to know who you want to be and start acting like that person.”
